The new Foursquare mayor of VJville

Sure, we understand the addictive nature of geo-location social networking (a.k.a. Foursquare). Getting ousted as the mayor of our Colorado-based advertising agency – Vladimir Jones – is a big deal for some of us. I won’t mention any names (Ryan and Kate). In just the right distance, one can hear the grunts and mumbles when the other takes over the title. We are a competitive bunch, if you didn’t know.

We’re also a curious group of exciting minds, so we’ve been checking in on Foursquare since its first appearance on the set of marketing. This week brought about big news for the location-based startup. With more than 10 million members, Foursquare revealed that it has raised $50 million in a new round of funding, and followed that announcement with a $600 million valuation. According to AdWeek, Foursquare says it will use the money for future expansion and engineer recruitment. We’re looking forward to the next places Foursquare plans to take us.

In the meantime, here’s a check-in worth checking out: @k_lov: With Pip Squeak (@ Vladimir Jones) [pic]: http://4sq.com/kpVBbb.
