Ground control to Major Tom

Imagination is the root of music, and music stems creativity, which comes to life in many different forms. Take David Bowie’s classic space epic. It inspired many different things, from movies to other songs to a Venture Bros. episode to, well, a children’s book.

Every lyric paints such a vivid picture:

This is major Tom to ground control, I’m stepping through the door
And I’m floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today
Here am I sitting in a tin can far above the world
Planet Earth is blue and there’s nothing I can do

So illustrator Andrew Kolb thought to share those pictures in the digital children’s book called Space Oddity, straight from Bowie’s song and lyrics. Download the book here and get the song from Liquid Spins.
